History: Gideon was a member of the Externals (immortal mutants) who possessed the superhuman ability to duplicate the genetic templates of any superhuman being in his proximity, and hence duplicate their superhuman powers. Gideon was wealthy, ruthless, and a powerful businessman.

The External Selene, who had gone on a killing spree among the Externals, recently killed Gideon.

Strength level: Variable. Usually, Gideon possessed the normal human strength of a man of his age, height, and build who engaged in intensive regular exercise.

Known superhuman powers: Gideon was a mutant with the ability to temporarily endow himself with superhuman abilities by assuming the superhuman energy signatures and genetic templates of superhuman beings. Apparently he could even duplicate the superhuman physical capabilities of robots. Gideon was an "immortal" mutant called an External whose aging process was greatly retarded and who could apparently regenerate injured or missing cells from even near-fatal injuries.

Gideon could presumably psionically scan the genetic makeup of superhuman beings in order to duplicate their superhuman abilities within himself.
