Historical Data

Very little is known about the early life of the woman known as Domino, including her original name. She was the result of a top-secret government breeding program known as Project: Armageddon, which sought to engineer the perfect weapon through genetic manipulation. Domino was the only test subject to survive, her probability-altering powers marking her as a success, though the project ultimately deemed her uncontrollable.

Expand full history

Domino eventually escaped Project: Armageddon and began a long career as a mercenary and covert operative. One of her earliest known assignments involved protecting the genius Milo Thurman, whose predictive abilities made him a target for numerous hostile organizations. During this mission, the two fell in love, and Thurman gave her the name “Domino,” inspired by her distinctive appearance. He also referred to her as “Beatrice,” a name she would continue to use as an alias.

Their relationship was cut short when a raid by A.I.M. forced Thurman deeper into government protection, with authorities falsely informing him that Domino had been killed. Believing each other lost, the two were separated for years.

Domino later joined the mercenary group known as the Six Pack, where she met Cable and formed a lasting partnership. Unbeknownst to her, she was later captured by Tolliver, Cable’s estranged son, and replaced by the shapeshifter Copycat, who infiltrated X-Force in her guise. After Cable rescued the real Domino, she became a central figure within X-Force, often serving as its co-leader.

Throughout her time with X-Force, Domino participated in numerous missions against both human and mutant threats. She later rescued Milo Thurman from Donald Pierce and Lady Deathstrike, though she was unable to prevent his death following their attempt to extract his knowledge.

Domino’s career has been marked by repeated returns to X-Force, even after periods of freelance work. She has faced threats including Operation: Zero Tolerance, during which she was captured and tortured by the Prime Sentinel Gryphon, as well as encounters with powerful enemies such as Marcus Tsung and alien entities that temporarily altered her physiology.

During a later phase of her career, Domino became involved with a covert strike team sometimes referred to as Weapon X-Force. This group operated under black-ops conditions, blending the philosophies of the Weapon X program with the tactical framework of X-Force. Domino’s experience as both a mercenary and field leader made her an ideal operative in this environment, where missions often required extreme measures and deniability. Her time with this team further reinforced her reputation as one of the most effective and adaptable operatives in mutant affairs.

During the Krakoan era, Domino served as a key member of X-Force, the mutant nation’s intelligence and black-ops division. In this role, she undertook covert missions to protect mutant interests worldwide, further cementing her reputation as one of the most effective operatives in the Marvel Universe.

Despite her often cynical demeanor, Domino has demonstrated strong loyalty to her allies and a willingness to fight for causes greater than herself. Whether acting as a mercenary or a hero, she remains a highly capable and unpredictable force.

Powers and Abilities

Strength Level: Domino possesses the normal human strength of a woman of her age, height, and build who engages in regular intensive exercise.

Known Superhuman Powers: Domino is a mutant whose ability manifests as a form of psionic probability manipulation. This power unconsciously alters probabilities in her favor, creating seemingly random but advantageous outcomes—commonly perceived as “good luck”—while causing improbable mishaps for her opponents.

Her abilities typically activate under stress or during situations requiring skill, allowing her to survive otherwise lethal scenarios. The exact limits of her power remain undefined, though it appears to influence events within her immediate vicinity rather than at a distance.

Expand full details

Domino’s probability field can subtly influence mechanical failures, enemy aim, environmental conditions, and timing. While she does not consciously control these effects, she has developed an instinctive trust in her abilities, often placing herself in high-risk situations where her powers are most effective.

In addition to her mutant abilities, Domino is a highly trained combatant. She is an expert marksman, proficient with a wide range of firearms, and skilled in hand-to-hand combat. She is also an accomplished athlete, swimmer, and explosives expert, making her one of the most versatile operatives in the field.

Limitations: Domino’s powers are largely subconscious and cannot be directed with precision. They are most effective in situations involving risk and probability, and less useful in controlled or predictable environments.

Weaponry & Paraphernalia

Domino frequently utilizes firearms, explosives, and specialized tactical equipment. She has also employed a custom staff capable of firing projectiles and equipped with sensor systems, which can assist in both combat and mobility.
