Earth-90214
Spider-Man Noir Universe
Active
Earth-90214 is the noir-influenced reality of Spider-Man Noir, a dark alternate universe set primarily in New York City during the Great Depression. Unlike Earth-616, this reality is shaped less by bright superhuman spectacle and more by organized crime, political corruption, economic desperation, social unrest, and morally complicated vigilante justice.

In this reality, Peter Parker was raised by his Aunt May and Uncle Ben Parker, both of whom were socially conscious reformers who opposed the corruption and exploitation consuming New York City. Uncle Ben’s murder by forces connected to Norman Osborn, the crime lord known as the Goblin, became one of the defining tragedies of Peter’s life.
Peter’s path changed after he came under the influence of Daily Bugle photographer Ben Urich, whose knowledge of the city’s criminal world helped expose Peter to the extent of Osborn’s power. While investigating stolen artifacts connected to the Goblin’s operations, Peter encountered a spider idol containing mystical spiders. After being bitten, he gained spider-like powers and became the vigilante known as Spider-Man.
Spider-Man Noir adopted a dark costume inspired in part by his Uncle Ben’s World War I-era airman gear. Operating from the shadows, he fought Osborn’s criminal empire and its enforcers, including noir versions of familiar villains such as Vulture, Kraven, Chameleon, and others. His early methods were harsher than those of many Spider-Men, reflecting the brutality of the world around him.
The conflict against the Goblin’s empire defined Earth-90214’s earliest known history. Peter fought not only individual criminals, but a system in which wealth, organized crime, political influence, and law enforcement corruption were deeply entangled. Figures such as Felicia Hardy, owner of the Black Cat club, and J. Jonah Jameson also played significant roles in the city’s struggle for truth and survival.
Earth-90214 later became significant beyond its own reality during multiversal Spider-events. Spider-Man Noir joined other Spider-powered heroes during the Spider-Verse conflict against the Inheritors, predators who hunted spider-totems across realities. He later became associated with the Web-Warriors, expanding Earth-90214’s importance within the larger Web of Life and Destiny.
During later multiversal conflicts, Spider-Man Noir was killed by Morlun, but he was eventually restored through mystical spider-totem forces. This resurrection reinforced the supernatural foundation of his powers and distinguished Earth-90214 from more science-driven Spider-Man realities.
Earth-90214 remains one of the most distinctive Spider-realities: a world of rain-soaked streets, corrupt systems, private clubs, desperate workers, violent criminals, and one masked vigilante determined to protect the powerless from those who believe power gives them the right to prey on others.

The inhabitants of Earth-90214 are largely ordinary humans living under the pressures of the Great Depression. Superhuman activity is rare and often carries mystical, experimental, or pulp-crime overtones rather than the widespread superhero culture seen on Earth-616. Criminal syndicates, corrupt industrialists, compromised officials, desperate workers, journalists, reformers, and vigilantes define much of this reality’s social landscape.
Spider-Man Noir is the reality’s most prominent superhuman defender. His powers include enhanced strength, agility, reflexes, wall-crawling, spider-sense, and the ability to generate organic webbing from his wrists. His existence introduces a mystical spider-totem element into an otherwise grounded noir crime setting.
