In Earth-65, Peter Parker lived a life marked by insecurity, isolation, and a desire to be recognized. Unlike his Earth-616 counterpart, Peter never became a hero. Instead, he was often overlooked and bullied during his time at Midtown High School, leading him to feel insignificant compared to others, especially his friend Gwen Stacy.
Peter admired Gwen, who would eventually become the spider-powered hero of this reality. However, his feelings of inadequacy and his longing to be special drove him down a dangerous path.

Seeking a way to gain power and recognition, Peter developed a chemical formula inspired by the work of Dr. Curt Connors, aiming to transform himself into something greater. The result was catastrophic. The formula mutated him into a monstrous reptilian creature known as the Lizard, dramatically increasing his strength, durability, and aggression while impairing his judgment.
As the Lizard, Peter lashed out at the world that had marginalized him. His rampage brought him into direct conflict with Gwen Stacy, who had recently gained spider-like abilities and begun operating as Spider-Woman. The confrontation between the two former friends was tragic and emotionally charged, as Gwen attempted to stop Peter without harming him.
During the battle, Peter’s transformation destabilized. In his final moments, the effects of the formula began to reverse, and he briefly regained his human form. Overcome with regret and confusion, Peter realized the consequences of his actions. Despite Gwen’s efforts, he succumbed to the damage caused by the transformation and died.
Peter Parker’s death became one of the defining events of Earth-65. The public, unaware of the full circumstances, blamed Spider-Woman for his death. This perception turned Gwen into a controversial figure and marked the beginning of her struggle as both a hero and an outcast.
Peter’s fate stands in stark contrast to his counterparts across the multiverse. Rather than becoming a symbol of responsibility and heroism, he represents the dangers of unchecked ambition and the emotional toll of feeling invisible. His story serves as a tragic inversion of the classic Spider-Man narrative.
Strength Level: As the Lizard, Peter possessed superhuman strength far beyond that of a normal human.
Known Superhuman Powers: As the Lizard, Peter exhibited enhanced strength, speed, durability, and regenerative capabilities. His transformation also granted him a reptilian physiology, including claws and increased resilience.
Other Abilities: Gifted student with an aptitude for science and chemistry.
