History: Little is known about Madame Hydra prior to her participation in the Deltite affair in which artificially created duplicates of human beings took control of the law enforcement agency, S.H.I.E.L.D. It is known that after a short time in the subversive organization her fanatical devotion impressed her superiors enough to promote her to the level of Madame Hydra VI. (The identities of Madames Hydra I through V who rank above her are unknown. A previous Madame Hydra is now known as the Viper II.) Apparently, one of her first major missions for HYDRA was to capture Nick Fury and deliver him to the Deltites, so that they could replicate the “Infinity Formula” from his body. After failing in her mission and discovering that she was being manipulated by the Deltites, Madame Hydra allied herself temporarily with the S.H.I.E.L.D. agents struggling against the takeover.

Following the defeat of the Deltites on the S.H.I.E.L.D. satellite, Madame Hydra returned to Earth with the other agents, and was subsequently turned over to federal authorities. After being found to be criminally insane, she was sent to Arnold Sanitarium for psychiatric treatment. She currently resides in this hospital, and it is unknown whether the treatment will alter her psychotic behavior or not.

Abilities: Madame Hydra is a superb hand-to-hand combatant. She is very skilled in the arts of swordsmanship and marksmanship.

Weapons: Madame Hydra is usually armed with a machete which she carries in a scabbard. She also will frequently use killing paraphernalia such as poisoned darts and lipstick. These items are coated with an as yet unknown form of contact poison.
