History: When their father, the Australian
crimelord known as Viceroy, was killed, Heather and Davis Cameron found themselves
marked for death by the Chinese Triad for they didn't want Warbuck's children
assuming his position of power.
While the Triad sought the Camerons out,
the X-Treme X-Men journeyed to Australia to clear the name of their former compatriot
Gambit who had been framed for Warbuck's death. Discovering the Cameron's existence,
the X-Men realized the siblings' peril and set out to help them.
Meeting
up with the Camerons, Storm and Thunderbird explained the situation to them and
vowed to safeguard them from whoever was out to kill them, thus becoming targets
of the Triad as well. When the assassins attacked, Heather was forced to reveal
herself as a mutant during the fight. Covering herself with a protective golden
metallic sheath, Heather accounted for herself quite well in the battle. When
questioned later by the X-Men, Heather admitted after the fight that she'd been
using her powers to help folks who'd needed it while she was working as a lifeguard
in Surfer's Paradise.
After the Triad was defeated and Gambit cleared,
Heather chose to join the X-Treme X-Men and took on the code-name of Lifeguard.

Known
Superhuman Powers: Lifeguard is a mutant with the ability to spontaneously
manifest whatever power or ability is necessary in a given situation. Protective
metal coating, wings, water control, super-strength - there seems to be no limit
to Lifeguard's power.
However, whilst Lifeguard can bring these powers
to bear, the selection of a particular power is apparently a subconscious act.
It is not yet known whether she can decide on what power or ability to manifest,
nor whether or not she can switch from one power to another.
