(as Paragon) HULK ANNUAL #6, (as Her) MARVEL TWO-IN-ONE #61
History: The being known as Her was the second attempt
at the creation of a perfect test-tube grown human being
by a collective of scientists calling themselves the Enclave.
Years earlier, Maris Morlak, a nuclear physicist, Jerome
Hamilton, a medical biologist, Carlo Zota, an electronics
technician, and Wladyslave Shinski, a geneticist, formed
the Enclave and founded a Citadel of Science where they
could pool their resources to fashion the technology to
create a benevolent world dictatorship. Their first major
project was the creation of a perfect life form to be mass
produced as an invincible army of supermen. The prototype
of the project, the being known only as Him, was more powerful
than they had predicted and resisted their attempts to control
him. The golden-skinned Him indirectly caused Hamilton's
death and devastated the Beehive before leaving Earth. Recouping
their losses and rebuilding the Citadel, the remaining Enclave
members began work anew on another genetic super-being,
this time one that they could control. When the creature
was ready to be "born," they enlisted the aid
of Doctor Strange (not realizing that he was a sorcerer)
to perform delicate brain surgery on the being to make it
more controllable. The plan failed, and Paragon, as they
named the creature, also rose against them and destroyed
the Citadel. Paragon retreated into a cocoon of its own
making to meditate upon its existence.
Some months later, Paragon emerged from the cocoon, transformed
into its ultimate form. Having been in touch in the Enclave's
computer system, the second creation learned of the first
and decided that as unique beings, they had a joint destiny
to mate and create a perfect race. Toward that end, Paragon
transformed its aspect to become Him's perfect mate, Her.
However, unknown to Her, Him (later called Adam Warlock)
had perished saving the universe from the evil Thanos. Undaunted,
Her sought Warlock's body so she might infuse it with her
cosmic power and resurrect it. But when she finally found
him, she was only able to resurrect his body and not his
soul (which resided in his soul-gem). Hence, she returned
Warlock's body to its resting place, and set forth to search
the universe for another suitable mate. She was recently
seen heading back toward Earth.
Height: 6 ft. 6 in. Weight: 390 lbs. Hair: Blonde Eyes:
White Skin: Gold
Strength Level: Her possesses superhuman strength,
enabling her to lift (press) approximately 70 tons under
optimal conditions.
Known Superhuman Powers: Her possesses the ability
to tap and manipulate ambient cosmic energy for a variety
of effects as well as the enhancement of her physical attributes.
The organic cells of her entire body function like cosmic
energy receptors and storage batteries, giving her a constant
source of power. Through concentration, she can channel
this energy into the manipulation of molecules. She can
rearrange the molecules of matter in a maximum volume of
about 3 cubic feet at a time. She can also project cosmic
energy as non-radioactive concussive force, its maximum
impact unknown (she once propelled the Thing 7/10 of a mile
with a single blast). She can also use cosmic energy to
interact with gravitons (particles of gravitational attraction)
to enable her to fly. She can attain a maximum speed through
an Earth-like atmosphere of Mach 10 (ten times the speed
of sound, 7,800 miles her hour). Her maximum speed through
the vacuum of space has not yet been measured. It is also
not yet known whether she can use her cosmic energies to
create rifts into warp-space like the Silver Surfer.
The cosmic energy coursing through her body supplies Her
with vast physical attributes. Her cosmically-enhanced metabolism
makes her virtually tireless: she can expend her powers
at peak levels for up to 24 hours before fatigue impairs
her performance. Cosmic energy augments her life force to
such a degree that she is beyond conventional harm (radiation,
penetration wounds, shock of impact, etc.). Only an injury
of such magnitude that it disperses a major portion of her
bodily molecules could cause death. If her body sustains
any less ever but debilitating injury, she can create a
cosmic energy cocoon out of nearby molecules in which she
can rest and regenerate. The nature of her cosmic life force
prevents the aging process, making her practically immortal.
She can project her cosmic life force into beings who have
died, thus reanimating dead tissue, but if a being's soul
(astral self) has passed from its body, she has yet to find
a way to restore it.
